Up for sale is my 1987 528e 5 speed. I wasn’t specifically looking for an E28 528e when I came across it, but being a 5 speed and super clean I could not resist. The car has been a southern car all its life starting in Florida and spending the remaining years in Georgia until I bought it and registered it here in South Carolina. One of the previous owners was an import mechanic in Atlanta, GA

I know everyone gives the ETA’a a hard time, but with a 5 speed they are an enjoyable car to drive. This one is an absolute pleasure to drive. It really is a great cruiser and I have had it on some longer highway trips and it really does perform well.

I had a chance to talk to one of the previous owners who owned it the longest. Someone in the chain of ownership tossed the service records, but he sounded like he took good care of the car. I do have records for everything I have done.

One of the previous owners had the car repainted BMW factory Boston Green Metallic at Peach Auto Center in Atlanta, GA. They did a very good job, however the jambs and engine compartment were not done. The body is in excellent shape, but does have some scratches on the trunk. I tried to show them in the pics. There is another deeper scratch on the front passenger side by the wheel, also in the pics. The seals are good with no leaks from the doors or sunroof. The rubber bumper parts are still nice and lay flat.

I swapped wheels and installed these 16” 5 spoke BBS with brand new Tiger Paw tires and complete center caps. Unlike most of my cars, I never really got around to doing the stereo. As such the car has a crummy aftermarket Sony that is barely adequate. I also replaced the inner door trim with some better condition ones from a pick n’ pull. It has an aftermarket shift knob and boot.

The interior is in great shape. No tears in the seats and the door panels are fine. I had the windows tinted when I first purchased it. All the power seat functions work, windows work, sunroof works, etc. The A/C works and blows Ice cold, actually the coldest e28 I have ever owned. I installed a dash cover a while back, the original dash had an excessive amounts of cracks. The odometer does not work and stopped around 162K. I do not know even a true range of mileage, but based on its driving and shape, I think it broke recently.

Since I had bought it to be a daily driver, I did do all the normal maintenance to make it reliable:

New hood shocks
New tires
New badges
Window Tint
New muffler
New motors mounts (x2)
New timing belt & tensioner
New water pump & T-stat
Fresh plugs
Fresh fluids ( oil, trans, coolant, rear diff)
New drive belts ( A/C, Steering, Fan)
New viscous fan
New upper radiator hose
New air filter
New wiper blades

Overall the car is very clean, drives great, and all maintenance is up to date. The car needs nothing!

Clear South Carolina title. Car is ready to go and would make a long distance trip with no issues.
