In the fifties Chevrolet played around with their different body styles like the Nomad in 1955 thru 1957. In 1959 they decided to start another new segment with the El Camino. It was quite a hit with the newly discovered suburban residents whom needed a second car but did not really want a truck. The El Camino was perfect for running errands and hauling cargo while still having all of the creature comforts and ride of a car. The good looking, fully restored example you see here, is a very nice representation of what was offered that year. It has a nice body with a beautiful Coral and white paint scheme that screams fifties. It has great trim, chrome, and glass also. It is powered by a rebuilt 348 V-8, equipped with tri-power, and a 3 speed transmission with overdrive. The motor compartment is show quality, as is the rest of the truck, or should I say car? The immaculate interior featured all new carpet, seat covers, headliner, and door panels. The instrument cluster and steering wheel make up arguably the best looking dash ever offered by Chevy. The steering wheel is very unique and sporty. The show quality bed is protected by a bed mat and custom made snap on tonneau cover. The chassis is very nice and shows well. It rides on 17 inch Torque Thrust II wheels with high performance radial tires. Other than the tire/wheel combo, dual mirrors, bed cover, and custom dual exhaust there are not allot of modifications.
